Wolf Creek Ski Area.

- The Most Snow In Colorado -

About 45 minutes from Juniper Ridge, Wolf Creek gets the most snow in Colorado and still has a laid-back, family-friendly feel. Here's how we plan a ski trip from the house.

Lift Tickets

Buy online ahead at wolfcreekski.com.

Rentals

In town: Ski & Bow Rack is our go-to. They also rent snowshoes, cross-country skis, sleds and snow tubes.

On the mountain: reserve rentals online at wolfcreekski.com, with free overnight storage. Helmets aren't rented on the mountain, so bring one or grab it in town.

Driving the Pass

Check COtrip.org before you head up Wolf Creek Pass. AWD/4WD or good snow tires help.

Snow Days

Sledding: Reservoir Hill in town, or the pullouts up on Wolf Creek Pass.

Dogsledding: a 2-hour ride with San Juan Sled Dogs, with hot chocolate and s'mores at the trailhead. Book ahead.

Snowmobiling: guided tours with Snow Country Snowmobile Tours. Drivers must be 16+. Book ahead.

After Skiing

Soak at The Springs Resort, then head back for the hot tub, a fire in the fireplace and hot chocolate. For food and more, grab our Winter Guide.
